On March 5th, 2012, Habitat For Humanity will send a group of volunteers to Matale, Sri Lanka, to build houses with the local community. Habitat’s Global Villages provides life-changing experiences for all who are involved in supporting their mission.

For two weeks I will work side by side with local people as we build more suitable dwellings for their families. I will document my personal experiences through daily journal entries, drawings on location, interviews with my team members, and photographs - all of which will be used later to influence a body of work and book of approximately 28-30 pieces. The trip will last two weeks, but the effects will continue to resound in my life and work, as well as the lives of the community members we are helping.

If the project interests you, please make sure to check out the progress as I update my website. On top of that, a contribution to help send me overseas would be greatly appreciated. The minimum amount I must raise to go to Sri Lanka is around $2000, but I hope to raise more, since every dollar helps buy supplies for the building process. With your support I will be able to create some work that could really make a difference, both in my career as an artist and as a humanitarian.

$300 or more: I will send you a signed hardbound copy of the resulting book along with a piece of original artwork from the book.
$200: You will receive a signed book, or an original drawing I'll do on location in Sri Lanka.
$100: I'll send you a signed soft-cover book.
